Natalie Kessell founded and formulated Pink Hibiscus, a handmade eco-aware skincare range, in 2004. The products are handmade by Natalie in Sydney, Australia with all ingredients sourced from Australian businesses.
Following her studies in aromatherapy, Natalie set out to create bespoke products, travelling around Sydney with her essential oil box to analyse clients’ skin and solve their skincare woes.
She found that there were some gaps in the market that needed filling on a larger scale though and the Pink Hibiscus range expanded to include a broader menu of products suitable for a range of skin types and requirements.
Her hero product adored by celebrities was (and still is) the Body Smoother – a 2-in-1 lotion that moisturises the skin as it exfoliates.
Each product in the market that doesn’t live up to its promises, causes irritation, or simply isn’t as effective as it should be, sets her on a new journey to create a solution, with new products launching regularly.
Ethically minded, all Pink Hibiscus products are proudly paraben-free, sulphate-free, vegan, cruelty-free and packaged in primarily recyclable material.
Paying it forward is a central part of both Natalie’s and the Pink Hibiscus ethos. In addition to the many charities she supports offline through fundraising, product donations and volunteering, with every order made on the Pink Hibiscus website, a tree is planted where it’s needed most in Australia in conjunction with One Tree Planted.
